A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting with The Nest at Ruth Farms, and got to tour this brand new Texas wedding venue and hear all about its unique backstory and everything this Denton wedding venue has to offer!
The Nest at Ruth Farms is a white barn wedding venue located in Ponder, TX It is located just 20 minutes from Denton, TX and about 45 minutes from Fort Worth, TX. The Nest at Ruth Farms is set on 6 acres of rolling hills and feels like the perfect get away from the city. It is the perfect fit for the couple that loves the farmhouse style, and are also looking for the perfect blank space for their wedding. With its white walls and plenty of light, the options are endless!
THE NEST AT RUTH FARMS - FOYER
At the building’s entrance, there is a large concrete drive that is perfect for wedding exit and even allows for an easy load in (something us wedding vendors are always excited about!). The large Romeo/Juliet balcony that is located right over the building’s entrance can easily be decorated with florals and greenery, and can even be used for the bouquet toss! As you walk through The Nest at Ruth Farm’s front doors, you immediately enter the large white foyer, which has a large bar directly to the left with a large marble countertop (I mean you know I love my marble!!). It is perfect to use as your bar for the event or even for your buffet. Directly to your right, you will see a large white staircase that leads to the upstairs that is often used by the DJ or Photobooth!
THE NEST AT RUTH FARMS - RECEPTION HALL
As you walk through the Nest at Ruth Farm’s vintage barn doors wood and mercury glass doors, you are immediately in aw when you walk in the grand event room. From the whitewashed walls, tall ceiling, crystal chandeliers to the large windows located at the front of the space, which allows for plenty of natural light, it will seriously leave you breathless! The Nest at Ruth Farm’s large interior grand room, and two side room’s that can easily be opened up allows for much variety in the floor plan and can hold up to 300 guests. It allows for an easier flip from the ceremony to reception if a couple decides to hold their ceremony & reception inside.
THE NEST AT RUTH FARMS - BRIDE AND GROOM'S SUITE
The Nest at Ruth Farms has not only a bride's suite but also groom’s suite so the bride and groom can get ready at the venue. The Bride’s suite is all white with a large marble countertop for hair & makeup and has plenty of seating for the bride and her bridal party to sit while drinking mimosas with her ladies in the morning. It is located off of the venue’s foyer and is the perfect location to hide from guests, and it allows for a hidden and beautiful entry into the ceremony. The groom’s room is located off of the grand hall and has plenty of seating and a TV to keep the groom and the groomsmen busy the morning of the big day!
THE NEST AT RUTH FARMS - OUTDOOR CEREMONY LOCATION
As you walk outside, there is an outdoor option for the ceremony. There is a concrete walkway that steps down and can act as your aisle for the big day. The archway is typically placed in front of a large pond, and is seriously an impressive ceremony backdrop!

The Nest at Ruth Farms: "Our functionality and un-compared beauty are the first two qualities that come to mind. Our venue was designed by both an architect and interior designer, who is one of the owners. This perfect combination of strategy/ function married with a specific vision to create a one-of-a-kind space is what everyone experiences and feels when they enter into The Nest. From Ponder's winding roads lined with green pastures to stepping foot into our grand entry, you will encounter a peace and beauty like no other. Beauty and function meet starting in our entry with our noticeably large antique french mirrored barn doors, which have become a signature favorite by photographers alike. After pulling back our doors and moving into our grand hall, where both ceremony and reception can take place, it is easy to see how our open concept with two additional wings can support a 300 person wedding. Our four crystal chandeliers and ornate French sconces add to both high drama and a beautiful simplicity in the space. We believe that our space is one that has to be experienced and around every corner (or maybe even door) there is a new discovery!"
Shannon Rose Events: "As a venue what has been your favorite experience so far?"
The Nest at Ruth Farms: "The people and stories! From vendors to couples to even people passing by, I love getting to hear peoples stories from the beginning to how they came to us! Every story is unique and one-of-a-kind, which runs parallel to who we are as a venue. I have also really loved having families here for photoshoots. We love God's design of family and believe in the power that families have to change the generations. "
Shannon Rose Events: "What is one interesting fact about the Nest at Ruth Farms?"
The Nest at Ruth Farms: "The land was initially bought with the intention to become a new housing subdivision in Ponder! Crazy to think now what that would have been like."
Shannon Rose Events: "What made ya’ll decide you wanted to open up a wedding venue?"
The Nest at Ruth Farms: "My sister Courtney is a dreamer, and when I say dreamer, she literally has dreams and visions from God. She had a vision a long time ago that our family would be in the wedding business. Well at the time, she would say that was one of the farthest things from reality and even pushed that dream aside thinking that wasn’t our families future. Fast forward years and our parents purchase 36 acres of land with their specific vision & intention of what I mentioned above. In the process of getting plans together for building a new subdivision in Ponder, Courtney recalls her earlier vision from having just gone to a friends wedding, brings the family together one day and says out loud in our interior design office, “ we need to open a wedding venue on the land.”
When we speak, we create. Our words have power.
And from that day on, we all could feel and knew that this exciting and incredible opportunity was from The Lord. So, we would all say that this was not something that we set out to do, but that we were called to do and be apart of. And now that we are open, it is becoming clearer every day why we are here. We are here to be a place that glorifies God and a place for you to tell the world your story."
