The Design Process

When Lauren and Michael reached out to me, I was thrilled beyond words. Having previously planned weddings for two other sisters in the family, being chosen for a third event was an honor honestly touched my heart deeply.

From the outset, it was clear that Lauren and Michael envisioned an outdoor ceremony and reception that captured the essence of Texas charm. Drawing inspiration from Lauren's own classic Ralph Lauren aesthetic, I set out to curate a design concept that would not only reflect their personalities but also pay homage to the beautiful Texan landscape.

Our search led us to Windemere Farms, a picturesque horse ranch that boasted a charming perfect for hosting their celebration. The rustic yet elegant backdrop of the venue resonated with the couple's vision, making it an easy choice for their special day.

Throughout the design process, my goal was to ensure that Lauren and Michael's wedding stood out as a unique reflection of their love story. By weaving together elements that spoke to their individual styles and shared vision, we were able to create a design that felt personal, meaningful, and distinctly theirs.

To honor the breathtaking views of the ranch venue and capture the essence of Lauren's Texas aesthetic, we chose to create a ceremony altar that harmonized with the surroundings. The altar featured a display of florals showcased on podiums of different sizes crafted from wood, complementing the mid-century modern chairs and chargers that adorned the tables. The aisle was adorned with organic-style florals, including mosses and wildflowers, enhancing the natural beauty of the setting and creating a cohesive design that stayed true to the venue's rustic charm and Lauren's Texan style.

Intrigued by Lauren's affinity for the color green, I decided to center the design around this versatile hue while infusing it with touches of yellow and pink blooms to add vibrancy and warmth. By incorporating organic wood elements into the decor, we were able to strike a balance between classic sophistication and natural beauty, creating a look that was both timeless and fresh which can easily be seen in the tablescape design featured below.

One standout element was the green checkered dance floor. We really wanted to create a dance floor that wasn’t typical and made a unique twist on it by utilizing different shades of green and varying sizes of squares, adding depth and visual interest to the dance floor design.

Complemented by the striking hanging floral arrangement above, this feature truly enhanced Lauren's classic yet subtly western design vision, bringing the entire concept to life in a unique and captivating way. We really wanted to create a dance floor that wasn’t typical and made a unique twist on it by utilizing different shades of green and varying sizes of squares, adding depth and visual interest to the dance floor design.

Incorporating the couple's love story into the wedding design was a priority, inspired by how they met at a coffee shop where Michael was the barista. To honor this, we created a special coffee bar for Michael, complete with a cozy lounge area and personalized notes on each cup for guests, a heartfelt touch that was a highlight of the night.

Given Michael's preference for relaxing quiet spaces over the bustling dance floor, we designed lounges that catered to his comfort. These spaces provided him with a tranquil retreat amidst the celebration, reflecting his desire for a more intimate setting. Additionally, the seating chart featured custom green coffee cups with the couple's monogram, inspired by Ralph Lauren plates, adding a subtle western touch that paid homage to their meeting place and delighted guests with a personalized keepsake. This thoughtful detail tied together their love story with the design in a meaningful and memorable way.

Additionally, the seating chart featured custom green coffee cups with the couple's monogram that were inspired by Ralph Lauren plates (seen below), adding a subtle western touch that paid homage to their meeting place & personal style delighted guests with a personalized keepsake.

This thoughtful detail tied together their love story with the design in a meaningful and memorable way.
