The Milestone Denton TX | Cigar Lounge | Brides of North Texas

I am so excited to share this new Cigar Lounge styled shoot that is featured in the latest issue of Brides of North Texas Magazine!  You can also check it out here along with other magazine’s Shannon Rose Events has been published in!

When Brides of North Texas reached out to us in March to design a styled shoot based on a velvet emerald sofa from Propmaker rentals, we wanted to create a shoot that was truly unique and not your typical wedding styled shoot.  There are so many unique details you can add to a wedding other than just to the ceremony and reception, and I wanted to create a space for a wedding that sometimes gets overlooked, the cocktail hour!

THE MILESTONE STYLED SHOOT - VENUE

When deciding on venues for this Brides of North Texas styled shoot, I wanted to find a classic venue that had a traditional and possibly southern exterior.  The Milestone in Denton TX ended up being the perfect wedding venue for the shoot.  It southern mansion exterior with black shutters created the perfect backdrop for this classic and fun cocktail lounge.  I think it helped bring the shoot to life!

THE MILESTONE STYLED SHOOT - DESIGN

When I saw the emerald sofa from Propmaker, I was immediately inspired, not only by its color but also by its texture.  The couch's velvet fabric reminded me of a sofa that you might see at a cigar lounge, so I thought it would be a unique idea for couples that are looking to have something different for their guests during cocktail hour.  I wanted the lounge to feel like we were taking the inside outside, so we placed a modern fireplace along with a seating area, and propmaker created a bar for guests to grab drinks, while their customized cigars would be made by hand.  Sarah Ann Design created a modern program for guests to read during cocktail hour to helps them get to know the bride and groom and learn more about their love story.  I kept the color scheme simple and classic, which can be seen not only in the flowers but also in their Bride & Groom’s attire.  The bride wore an elegant satin wedding dress, and the groom wore a classic black tux provided by Pence & Panache.
