Firefly Gardens Wedding | Firefly Gardens Open House | Mauve Ballroom Wedding

This year I had the pleasure of helping design & plan the Firefly Garden’s first open house, and it was by far one of the highlights of my year! Firefly Garden’s is one of my favorite Dallas Fort Worth wedding venues. So when Jamie called and asked if I could be apart of it, you better believe I said YES! 😊

When I first met with Firefly Gardens, they described their overall vision for the event to be Southern & informative for attendees. Right away, I knew I wanted to design a space that not only allowed attendees to mingle with vendors easily but also see inspiration throughout the ballroom. As a result, I knew the way the floor plan was laid out would play a big factor in how vendors & attendees could interact with one another.  When attendee’s walked into the Firefly Garden's ballroom, they received a welcome bag from the wedding venue at a round table at the entry.  Two rows of tables were located in the center of the room, and along the outside perimeter, to allow guests to easily make their way around the room. This design created a great flow throughout the event, and vendors were able to exchange information easily.

Since most ceremonies in the space are located directly in front of the venue’s tall windows, I decided to showcase a mini ceremony scene in the center. I noticed through my research that the majority of couples that got married at Firefly Gardens typically use an archway, and I wanted to showcase a different option for couples to see. I decided to showcase a more traditional ceremony scene with two large floral arrangements that would flank each side of the altar.

Around the ceremony scene, I wanted to design different reception table options. I wanted each table to easily showcase how subtle differences in design can completely change a tabletop. However, I knew I needed to be careful in this design to assure that it stays cohesive with the overall look of the open house. As a result, I decided to do four different designs & mix linen styles to help keep it in line with the overall design. Each table had the same plate ware, but I mixed silver and gold metallics and played with different pattern linens. The patterned linens were, by far, one of my favorite design elements that we incorporated. I think it was something a little different that some couples may not have thought to add into their design, and it added the perfect southern touch to the design. The florals added to the color scheme through a mix of blush, cream, & mauve florals and honestly took your breath away! I loved how Lush Couture Floral used the florals instead of the greenery to create the “texture” in the arrangements. This allowed the floral centerpieces to have a modern aesthetic, while still feeling timeless to onlookers.

Overall I was really excited with how the event turned out, and I can’t wait for you to see all the beautiful pictures Beatbox Portraits captured! (She is the best with details ya’ll!)
